Messages from the President
Mr. Dan Otting

Coming to California:
The West
coast contains huge opportunities, along with concurrent challenges.
Expanding here to do business for the first time can be a unique
experience when faced with the limitations placed by local municipalities on
transporters. Zone requirements and Conditional Use Permits, Real estate
prices, traffic, specialized fuel costs, and competitive pricing can be
counter balanced by associating with our local operation. Consider a
scenario where an out of state sales office has a customer here who wants to
increase volume that is currently being serviced by long haul drivers.
Profit is available, but not quite enough to justify investing in a
terminal. A smart solution is to base a cost effective local driver with us
to shuttle during the day, and swap via long haulers at night with no wait
time. With an established presence, sales increase and growth can be
incrementally controlled.
The One shot deal:
It happens
where a transporter's own terminal is full with fast turning units when a
valued customer experiences a short term bump in volume that can only be
handled by an increase in infrastructure. No salesman will tell a hard
won account that an increase is impossible so long as an association with us
exists. Quickly finding acceptable parking can be a full time and
specialized job when efforts need to be concentrated on the logistics of
transporting. So, we relieve the burden and accept overflow units and will
even open satellite yards for large volumes. We are not realtors, but
maintain information and the best of industry contacts who know where to
quickly find both short and long term parking space solutions.
Additionally, we put our clients together to assist one another with power
requirements.
Extra benefits:
There are
self-evident reasons Insurers discount their premiums for our customers.
Even Self-insured customers have an advantage for the same reasons. A
managed yard reduces theft and damage. Whether operating our terminal, or a
customer's own terminal, our industry benchmark methods for hostler assisted
staging, inventory control, roadability maintenance, yard layout, and
document processing, to name a few, translates into efficiency and profit
to our customers' bottom line.
If you are
serious about profit, we urge you to allow us to explain in detail how we
can be one of the best associations you can make for your own company's
success. Contact us below at 909/357-3255

Staff Statements |
|
Management: Contracts and
Accounting
Statement: "This company was founded on
experience gained by dealing with the same challenges our customers face. We
realized a need for an operation that allows transporters to do what they do
best, and not be absorbed into dealing with Terminal issues. For a fraction
of the cost of one full-time manager, our customers are clever enough to
gain the infrastructure of a fully staffed terminal."
Operations: Staff training, Customer
Service, and Yard Layouts
"Trucking real-estate is a
tight and expensive market. Yard layouts have to be balanced for both
efficient turn times and maximum parking footprint. Then they must be
staffed with people who can satisfy Drivers' and Dispatchers' needs. We make
it so they have a terminal that supports the work they do for their own
valued customers." |
|
Sales: Marketing and Industry
Relations
"It makes sense for
transporters wishing to expand their sales in the California market to do so
by operating from our sites and building their customer base. As sales rise
to finance an exclusive use terminal, we will use our specialized knowledge
to assist with locating a suitable site, efficient layout, staffing, and
management. We are not transporters who compete with our customers, but
rather do all we can to help increase their market share." |
|
Systems: Logistics Development
Statement: "'Nothing happens until
something moves' is an old trucking phrase still true today. But the way
freight is moved has become an art and science. It is a fact our continuing
history is one of setting benchmarks that become industry standards. We
continue innovating with cutting technology, smart new ways of setting up
expansion yards, and using forecasting models to manage overflow, for
example. We are always anxious to present ways that aid our client's
efficiency and add to their bottom line." |
|
Trailers: Repair and Preventative
Maintenance
Statement: "Shippers often form their
opinion of a trucking company at the dock. A well maintained trailer gives
the correct impression that they are being serviced by a company that cares
about their product. You can rest assured that the work of our vetted
trailer mechanics will guarantee the professional image you want of your
company's equipment."
|
|
Tractors: Power Repair and Preventative
Maintenance
Statement: "Something as simple as
a burned out brake light can make all the difference to a driver trying to
make an appointment, but Service-Truck calls are expensive and time
consuming. Our on-site maintenance is full service, economically priced, and
fast. Whether it is changing a glad-hand, or a major overhaul, our efforts
are meant to get equipment back on the road in a hurry."
|
|
After Hours: Customer Support
Statement: "The Transportation
Industry doesn't stop moving because the clock shows 5:00 PM. Our service
continues 24/7, holidays included. Having management always available is
another way we work to satisfy the needs of our clients"
